Seitan Strips with barbecue sauce


Are you out of ides to cook seitan? Do you love BBQ sauce and innovating in the kitchen? Then this receipt is made for you! This vegan dish is perfect if you are looking for a tasty and healthy alternative. Let’s cook! Take note of all the ingredients and follow the receipt for some appetizing BBQ coated seitan strips.

For the seitan strips:

  • Sliced seitan from Soria Natural
  • Spring onion
  • Sesame seeds

For the BBQ sauce:

  • 250 g of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of Sherry Vinegar
  • 50 g of sugar
  • Black pepper to your taste
  • Salt to your taste

For the potatoes:

  • Small potatoes
  • Paprika
  • Herbs de Provence
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive Oil

DIRCTIONS

Preparing the BBQ sauce:

  1. In a pot, put all the ingredients for the BBQ sauce.
  2. Get the mix to boil and let it boil on medium heat until the mix becomes a thick sauce.
  3. Adjust the seasoning and set aside.

Preparing the potatoes:

  1. Carefully wash the potatoes and boil during 30 minutes. Once boiled, let them cool in the same water.
  2. When cold, cut them in wedges and put them in an oven tray.
  3. Add herbs de Provence, paprika, salt, black pepper and a touch of olive oil. Cook in the oven at 200°C until they are crispy.

Preparing the seitan:

  1. Cut the seitan slices into tick strips.
  2. Spread the BBQ sauce through the seitan strips, making sure they are well covered.
  3. Cook in the oven and Paint with BBQ sauce every 10 minutes to make sure to cover them well.

Serving:

Serve the seitan strips along with the crispy potatoes and, finally, add the sesame seeds and the chopped spring onion.
