ARONIA
It is a bush from the Rosaceae family whose fruits, which are small black
berries, stand out for having a greater amount of total phenolic compounds than
any other berry (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.). They help eliminate
free radicals and stimulate the formation of antioxidant enzymes. Aronia fruits
also stand out for their cardioprotective action.
POMEGRANATE
The pulpy, globulous fruit of the pomegranate tree, which is characterized
by its red color and its acid taste, stands out for its content in punicalagins
that have the ability to capture free radicals. Moreover, pomegranate has immune-modulating
and antiviral properties.
TURMERIC
This root, widely used in cooking as the main ingredient in curry, is
important for its content of curcuminoids. Curcuminoids are the pigments that
give the plant its golden orange color and are responsible for most of its
benefits. Turmeric stands out for its properties to neutralize free radicals
and for its anti-inflammatory action.
BROCCOLI
This cruciferous stands out for its high content of vitamins, minerals and
trace elements. It is a natural source of chlorophyll, but it is special since
it is one of the foods with the highest content of sulforaphane, an antioxidant
that, unlike others such as vitamin C or beta-carotene that work directly
neutralizing free radicals, activates hepatic detox enzymes, hence its effect is
more lasting.
GREEN TEA
It has been proven by several studies that green tea has antioxidant
properties because of its content of polyphenols, catechins and bioflavonoids. Having
a cup of green tea infusion every day is quite a healthy option.
BLACK GRAPES
The peel and
seeds of this fruit stand out for their content of tannins, anthocyanidins,
flavonoids and resveratrol, which have great antioxidant properties.
Resveratrol is also an activator of sirtuins, which are a group of proteins
that regulate aging.
